Born on September 6, 1989, in Merced, California he raised in a turbulent environment, dealing with local gang culture, a step-father frequently in prison, and surviving a drive-by shooting. He discovered an early passion for the plant, treating it as a constant comfort amid a shifting childhood. 2012 he launched his digital presence by showing his face alongside cannabis culture on Instagram when few others would. At 2014 Thomas began uploading to his Dope As Yola YouTube Channel, making raw lifestyle videos, product reviews, and educational tutorials like joint rolling. He gained massive traction through his humorous and highly authentic "Story Time" video segments. Over the time he faced severe digital roadblocks, including demonetization, video deletions, and losing an Instagram account with 4.1 million followers due to cannabis restrictions. At 2021 he co-founded the highly successful Dope As Usual Podcast with Marty O'Neil, interviewing iconic mainstream figures like Tony Hawk and Mario Lopez.
