⭐ Arjan "King of Cannabis" Roskam ⭐

Arjan Roskam (born April 4, 1970 in South Africa and later raised in the Netherlands and Zambia) is a Dutch cannabis entrepreneur, activist, and the self-appointed "King of Cannabis." He is globally recognized as the founder of the Green House brand and its accompanying Amsterdam coffeeshop empire.

While backpacking through northern Thailand at age 17, an old medicine man treating heroin addicts gave him a handful of cannabis seeds. The man told him the seeds would one day "overthrow governments," inspiring Roskam’s lifelong obsession with the plant.

In 1992, he opened his first cafe, Green House Pijp, in Amsterdam's Diamond District. He disrupted a market focused heavily on imported hash by specializing in rare, exotic indoor-grown Sativa and Haze strains. Roskam built a massive marketing apparatus around his brand, famously hosting celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Rihanna, and Eminem. He is credited with winning over 40 High Times Cannabis Cups over the decades.

In 2008, Roskam co-founded the Strain Hunters documentary series alongside his head breeder, the late Franco Loja. They traveled to remote regions (including Colombia, Africa, and India) to locate, preserve, and breeding-test vulnerable "landrace" cannabis genetics.
