Barney's Farm

Barney's Farm is a globally renowned cannabis seed bank based in Amsterdam and is producing cannabis genetics since the 1980s. Founded by Derry Brett, the company began after collecting landrace strains across Asia and the Middle East, eventually becoming a staple of the Dutch coffeeshop scene and a one of the leaders in feminized and autoflowering seeds.

Founder Derry Brett spent the 1980s traveling across Asia and the Middle East, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Nepal. He gathered and cross-bred rare, indigenous landrace strains alongside local farmers. Armed with an extensive genetic library, Derry returned to Amsterdam. He launched the official Barney's Farm Seed Bank and opened their Amsterdam coffeeshop, which became a global hub for cannabis tourists and connoisseurs. Since late 2023, the brand started launching massive commercial operations in Northern California to supply the exploding US market.

Because of their mega-scale mass production based largely out of Spain, many people critique the brand for utilizing white-labeled seeds or replicating trendy strain names without using the original parent clones. True or not - the brand is collaborating officially with other brands like Dr. Greenthumb's, Doja or BackPack Boyz to produce and distribute their flagship strains as seed.
